Hobart’s – if you are not playing this lot then change it to “no-visitors” allowed or replace it.Sims are drawn to whatever is there and will lag trying to see it. Spanish resort – remove the fence around the trees in the middle of the pool.Go into edit town mode and do the following:
The things below are what I did and I had very little lag or issues with this expansion. Hope this helps! Store worlds can be tricky as they sometimes have their own custom weather, so feel free to shoot me a line if you run into trouble.I wanted to share what I did when I was playing Sims 3 to make Island Paradise have less lag and be more playable. You should NEVER edit a world without backing up, it will just cause hair-pulling later. If you’ve screwed up or don’t like the lighting mod after all, delete Roaring Heights.world and rename Roaring Heights.orig (or whatever you named your original file) back to Roaring Heights.world.
You’re done! Move this world file back into the Installed Worlds folder. Make sure you have “Replace Duplicates” checked, or you’re wasting your time. A dialog box will pop up, shown below. Make sure you highlight ALL of the files, not just one, and click open. Find the folder that has the lighting mod extracted files. In S3PE, navigate to Resource > Import > From file. S3PE will NOT open a non-decrapified store world. If S3PE refuses to open your file and it’s a store world, you didn’t decrapify it. Open the world file on your desktop with S3PE. Change the extension of the file in your Installed Worlds folder to. Find your world file, in this case Roaring Heights. Now, navigate to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Installed Worlds. I’ve included a picture of my folder labeling system below.) (I’d recommend extracting all these to a clearly labelled folder, as you are going to need them again shortly. Right click on these items, and select Export > To File. Hit CTRL+A to select everything inside the package. Open the Perfect Day Lighting Mod in S3PE. For my world, I’m going to use a decrapified Roaring Heights. I’m going to use Burnt Waffles’ Perfect Day Lighting Mod, because it’s lovely and new. If you intend to try this with a store world, your world MUST be decrapified. Rather than switching my lighting mods out every time I play, I can use S3PE to stick the lighting mod directly into the world file.ĪFAIK, this can be done with any lighting mod or world, but store worlds require a little extra work. Let’s say, for example, I have a really cool lighting mod I want to use in Sunset Valley, but not Twinbrook. Because I’m not sure this has ever been spelled out anywhere, I wanted to quickly address how to use multiple lighting mods for different worlds, in case there’s somebody out there who’s not sure how to do it.
